I specialize in design solutions for nonprofit organizations—past clients have included PBS’s POV: American Documentary, the Environmental Protection Agency, Kartemquin Films, Media Consortium, the National Association for Multicultural Education, Midwest Brain Injury Clubhouse, Synapse House. Other clients include: Second City, Robert Jeffrey Hair Studio, Food Lovers London, Columbia College Chicago, the Harvard Arab Alumni Association and United TaxiDrivers Community Council.
As creative director of the independent non-profit Chicago-based In These Times, I have overseen the transition and redesign of the small national bi-weekly to a larger monthly with ever-increasing circulation numbers—all while ensuring we meet deadline. I manage the art department designing every issue from concept to production, both for print and the web (InTheseTimes.com). I most recently lead the redesign of the organization’s identity, web and print edition.
I manage all freelance illustrators, photographers and print vendors while working closely with the editorial staff to coordinate all the aspects that go into producing a high-quality monthly. I work with development and publishing departments to plan and maintain the publication’s visual branding standards and fundraising strategies.
